Radiance Performance teams

Welcome to Open performance team.

This page is where you will find all the information you need for your team.

All dancers are expected to abide by Radiance's Code of Conduct (here's a link Safe Dance lessons Toowoomba - Dance classes Toowoomba (radianceacademytoowoomba.com) ).

In addition, there are some expectations that are specific for performance team members.

Here is the performance team agreement that outlines the expectations to being in the team.

High Tea- 21 May 

Kingaroy Eisteddfod-29th to 30th April 

ATOD International- 1st to 5th July

City of Toowoomba Eisteddfod- July/August

Lockyer District Dance Festival (Gatton)- September

*This is a rough draft of engagements, there may be more less bookings.

Close to each performance we will have a rehearsal at the studio for all performance team dancers.

This will be a full dress rehearsal (costume, correct stockings & shoes, hair, and make-up) so the teachers can check that all dancers are ready for the event. It also gives everyone an extra chance to practice their hair and make up.

On performance/eisteddfod days and you need to contact us urgently, it's best to call the Radiance phone on 0437 012 653.

To prepare for performances it's best to have a kit ready to go.

Part of this kit is everything you need for your hair, make-up and everything you may need.

Below is a printable document that has everything listed that you need for your performances.

During class you can wear your normal uniform and dance shoes appropriate to the style of the dance piece you are rehearsing.

In addition to your costume dancers will be required to provide their own shoes and tights appropriate for the style of their item. All of these items can be purchased at the studio.

*Often these items sell fast when we have an upcoming event. To make sure you are ready for performing it's a good idea you check you have what you need as soon as you know the style of your items. Be sure you also check that your shoes are clean before each event.

Make-Up will be as per concert or as discussed by your teacher. 

In the Open team you will wear Maybeline Superstay 24 Colour lipstick in shade All Day Cherry* and false eyelashes.

*the brand of lipstick has altered their shades so if you have the same brand but in the shade Eternal Cherry this is acceptable as well. 

 Make-Up Notes

• leave plenty of time to get make up done 
• have something to eat before putting lipstick on
• wear Radiance specified lipstick only (if unable to wear this brand please see staff to colour match)
• no glitter of any kind (including eye shadow, eyeliner, diamantes)
• be sure to set your make-up using setting spray or powder
• if you have blonde or very light eyebrows make sure you fill them in (on stage they disappear)
• students are required to wear false eyelashes

Hair styles for your dance items will be set out by your teacher and communicated either on your costume sheet or discussed in class.

Hair Notes

• if it doesn't move and feels like straw its good (stage lights pick up any fluffy hair)
• hair pins for securing buns & bobby pins for securing hairpieces and short hair
• don't forget your hairpiece
• bring bobby pins, hairspray & other hair essentials with you to events
• ensure all hair pins, hairbands, and bun nets are the same colour as your hair
• no glitter hairspray or gel
