Radiance Performance teams

Welcome to being part of our performance teams. Our performance teams are integral to the Radiance family and are our go to student who are the face of the studio. This coming year is sure to be a big one and your teachers are excited to start creating some amazing dance numbers with you.  We are excited for our best year yet.  

All dancers are expected to abide by Radiance's Code of Conduct (here's a link Safe Dance lessons Toowoomba - Dance classes Toowoomba (radianceacademytoowoomba.com) ).

In addition there are some expectations that are specific for performance team members.

We Expect:

• students attend all performance team lessons
• parents will email if their student is unable to attend class due to illness or events
• parents must give 1 month notice in email if their child is unable to attend a performance (this is to allow sufficient time to adjust spacing)
• families will organise transportation to and from performance venues or organise carpooling
• students must wear their performance team jacket and black studio 7 pants to all events
• students will have the correct shoes, tights, make-up, & hairstyle for their items
• be ready to laugh, have fun, and work hard

Contemporary 

Acro Performance Team

Costumes will be handed out before your first performance. These will be sized in first few weeks of term 1.

You will find a costume sheet for your costume below. Please check this sheet to ensure you have all you need. 

During class you can wear your normal uniform and dance shoes appropriate to the style of the dance piece you are rehearsing.

In addition to your costume dancers will be required to provide their own shoes and tights appropriate for the style of their item. All of these items can be purchased at the studio.

*Often these items sell fast when we have an upcoming event. To make sure you are ready for performing it's a good idea you check you have what you need as soon as you know the style of your items. Be sure you also check that your shoes are clean before each event.

Acro

• Convertible theatrical pink tights 

Ballet

• Theatrical pink ballet tights
• MDM ballet flats or Capezio Hanami ballet flats ONLY (10 years teams and older with ribbons)
• Pointe shoes (15 years and Open teams as discussed with your teacher)

Contemporary

• Convertible theatrical pink ballet tights (worn folded up to calf)
• OR Matte Tan Capri tights (as discussed with your teacher)

Hip Hop

• Joggers/hi-tops (see Miss Sian for exact colour and style)
• Socks to match you costume (see Miss Sian for exact)

Jazz

• Footed shimmer tights
• Tan jazz shoes

Lyrical

• Convertible theatrical pink ballet tights (worn folded up to calf)
• MDM ballet flats or Capezio Hanami ballet flats ONLY (as discussed with your teacher, some pieces may go bare foot)

Make-Up will be as per concert or as discussed by your teacher. 

Those in 6yrs., 8yrs. and 10yrs. teams will wear Maybeline Superstay 24 Colour lipstick in shade Continuous Coral.

Dancers in 12yrs., 15yrs., and Open team will wear Maybeline Superstay 24 Colour lipstick in shade Eternal Cherry and will be required to wear false eyelashes.

Hair styles for your dance items will be set out by your teacher and communicated either on your costume sheet or discussed in class.

To ensure you are ready for any hair style check you have:

• hairbands (clear or same hair colour)
• bobby pins
• hair pins (sometimes called fringe pins)
• hair nets (same colour as hair)
• hair spray
• hair gel
• hair donut (not all teams will require one check with your teacher)
