Radiance Ravings - December News

Dance School News

Hello everyone....Welcome to Summer!  How amazing in this weather:-)

Only two weeks left of class before we get a well earned break.  But there is a lot happening in those two weeks.

Congratulations

Congratulations on our most successful concert to date!  Hooray the dancers and parent support were amazing.

I had feedback from another studio owner in the audience that ours was the "Best concert they have seen!"  Hooray - good work everyone:-)

Costumes

We still have a significant amount of costumes that haven't been returned.  If you took your costume home from the Empire Theatre or didn't end up dancing and have your costume at home.  This is the week to return your costume to the studio.  All costumes are named so any unreturned costumes will be charged to your account at FULL replacement cost.

VIP Rebooking

Rebooking for our own students is open now - so that you get your pick of days.  We will open enrolments and start advertising in a week or so.

Free Dress 10 to 15 December

The last week of term will be Christmas Themed Free Dress.  Please send your dancer in something that they can dance comfortably in.

Open Class

You are invited to watch your dancers final class of the year.  Please invited Grandpa Joe and Aunty Megan.  Class numbers will be lower due to school holidays so please feel free to bring a few friends along:-)

The Concert Filming

It is now too late to order a concert USB or link.  These are in production.  They will be available the final week of dance.

Outstanding Fees

All accounts are now past due.    If your account is still outstanding you will receive a late fee additional to your term 4 fees.  Please finalise these today.

Performance Teams/Troupes

Entries close on Monday 3 December for our Elite Performance Teams.  Please submit your application today if you are still keen.  Miss Kayli and Miss Sally will meet next week to finalise teams and numbers.

Troupes are for non-classical ballet dancers who don't want to miss out on all of the performance fun.  You can book this group yourself online via the registration screen.

Photos

Photos will be available during the last week of term to view and order from the studio.

New staff in 2019

Jennifer Oxenham - Irish Specialist

My love of Irish dancing began at the very early age of 3 when I followed the footsteps of my sister to lessons at the Irish Club in Brisbane. I won my first State Title at the age of 5 and continued to win more than 10 solo championships and many team events and placed regularly in top 5 in the Nation. I retired early from competitive dancing to concentrate on passing on my passion of this dance form to teach. I sat my TCRG exam -Fully accredited Irish dance teacher exam in 2011. A highlight of my teaching career was to have 2 dancers qualify for the world championships in Glasgow this year. One being my daughter Olivia. I look forward to joining the teaching team here at Radiance Dance Studio offering the Irish dance class with a fully qualified and registered teacher.   Miss Jennifer

Grace Tame - Classical Ballet Specialist

Grace started her classical ballet training in Toowoomba in

multiple methods including Southern Federation of Dance, Living Dance and The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet syllabus. In 2012 she moved to Melbourne to complete full time training at The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet under the tutelage of Christine Walsh. Whilst there she completed an Advanced Diploma in

Dance (Elite Performance) and performed soloist roles in full length ballet productions. Upon returning to Toowoomba Grace continued dancing at local studios and widened her dance vocabulary taking classes in jazz, contemporary and Pilates. She has completed a Diploma in Education Studies and is now currently at university completing a degree in psychology whilst maintaining a

love and enjoyment of sharing dance.
