G'day dance families. Wow we are getting to the busy part of the year. There is so much happening. Please read our newsletter thoroughly so that you stay in the know! If you have any questions don't forget to ask:-)

Dance Concert Coming up in Term 4
As you know we are performing Alice in Wonderland at the Empire Theatre on the 19th of November 2016. We will have a rehearsal schedule available shortly. But please save the dates...
November 5 - Whole School from 9:30am - 5:30pm
November 12 - Grade 3 Ballet upwards, Fusion, Singing, Tap
November 19 - Whole School rehearsal & Concert
Our costume department is working tirelessly on designing, manufacturing, ordering, preparing and laundering our costume stocks for this year.
All dancers enrolled in term 3 will receive an invoice for their costume hire. Costume hire ranges from $30 - $36 per costume per class. If you are asked to provide your sizing to the studio...please see the sizing chart here.

Thursday and Friday Class interruption 25 & 26 August due to Dance Exams
If your class falls on a Thursday or Friday afternoon between 3:45 and 6pm on the Thursday the 25 and Friday 26 August there is an alternative plan for your class. Please see the details below.
Thursday Grade 4 & 5 - Attend a make-up lesson at the time of your choice in another class style or request a credit for term 4 via email.
Performance Team and Grade 6 - these classes will still go ahead! They will commence at 6:10 instead of 6:00pm and finish at 8:30 instead of 8:20pm.
Simple Steps Friday - this has already been deducted from the invoice for term 3.
Sweet Steps Friday - Attend a make-up lesson at the time of your choice in another class style or request a credit for term 4 via email.
Fusion Friday - Attend a make-up lesson at the time of your choice in another class style or request a credit for term 4 via email.

Singing Lesson Changed Time
On the 3rd of September we will be hosting a double lesson! So the Group 1 & 2 will be singing from 1:00 - 2:30 and Group 2 will be singing until 3pm.
There will be no class on the final week of the Saturday 17 September. Therefore open class will be held on the 10 September at normal time!
Living Dance International Dance Exams and Assessments


Our examinations and assessments are going to be held at 1 Angle Street on Thursday the 25 and Friday 26 August. The timetable is now available. Please arrive at the St Mark's church annexe (near the toilets) at least 20 minutes prior to your examination. The exams are timed perfectly and will run back to back for 2 days with 5 minutes break between each exam. If you are late, your exam will go ahead without you.
All students will require the 2015 or 2016 colour leotard, skirt or dance pants. The ballet students will require clean and hole-free flesh coloured ballet tights. The dance shoes need to be clean and neat. Hair needs to be in a mid height bun. Please see tutorial below.
Compulsory hair bow available from Dancewear and Gifts by Lana for $8.95 called Lily Ribbon. These are available in old, new and Fusion colours.
Grade 5 and 6 students optional light make-up and demi pointe shoes required.
Please remove all jewelry and visible underwear.

New Dance Classes in September
Mummy and Me Dance Class
After many requests we are pleased to announce our brand new Mummy and Me Dance Class for children from 18 months to 3 years. We are going to launch this new class on Wednesday 7 September at 10:15am. Please contact me to register your interest... Or read our class bio here.

Pre Tap
Expression of interest.... Our amazing Mrs Kerrie Jessup is contemplating opening up a Pre Tap class for children 5 & 6 years of age. This will be an upbeat fun half of learning beats, tap patters and making a lot of noise! Please let me know if you are interested.

Spotlight on Classes
We are known for our beautiful classical ballet classes, but we also offer free flowing contemporary and upbeat jazz in our Fusion groups. Running three times a week we have Junior, Intermediate and Senior sessions available. To organise your free trial please click here.
Name Dance Wear

Please label your dancer's cross over, shoes, leg warmers, drink bottles and more. It is difficult for teachers to know which piece belongs to which dancer.

Performances

Rangeville School Fete
On Saturday the 20th of August we are excited to be participating with the Rangeville School in celebrating their Fete. We are honoured to have the use of the stage. More details will be available shortly regarding times and locations etc.
Language and Cultural Festival
On Sunday the 14th of August we are privileged to be performing at Queens Park in Toowoomba. We are dancing on stage 3 - Good Will Stage at 10am for 30 minutes. Please meet at 9:30am at the Good Will Stage back entrance.

Classes required for both of the above performances will be
- Monday Performance Team
- Wednesday Senior Fusion
- Thursday Performance Team
- Saturday Contemporary Voice and Musical Theatre
Please let your teachers know next week if you are unable to make these performances.
Over 55's Dance Class
The research is conclusive... Dance is one of the best exercises possible to ensure that you age gracefully, live well, retain cognitive function, sustain balance and flexibility. Therefore we are introducing a new class just for those over 55 years. Click on the photo opposite for details.
Don't forget, if you refer your Grandma or Nanna and they book into this class, you will receive a Myer gift card for your kind referral.
